‘Falling isn’t fun; but getting up again makes it worth it’: Gul Panag on learning roller skating

Ensuring maximum safety is paramount when engaging in exhilarating fitness activities that get the adrenaline pumping. The thrill loses its appeal if the activity results in injuries. Emphasizing the significance of precautions and protective gear is none other than Gul Panag, the 44-year-old actor and fitness enthusiast, who recently embraced roller skating or inline skating.

Having experienced multiple falls during her training sessions, Gul Panag highlighted the crucial role of handguards in preventing injuries. In a shared video, she expressed, “Falling isn’t fun. But getting up again makes it worth it! Just when I thought I got the hang of them rollerblades. The handguards have saved me multiple times. Cannot stress enough the importance of wearing protective gear.” The footage captures her adept rollerblading skills just before a momentary loss of balance leads to a fall. Fortunately, she escaped unscathed, unlike actor Genelia D’Souza Deshmukh, who suffered a hand injury while learning to skate.

Gul Panag’s perspective reflects the universal truth that falls are inevitable, whether you’re a novice or an experienced athlete engaging in physical activities. Therefore, investing in protective gear, including wrist guards, handguards, and elbow pads, alongside the inline skates, is a wise decision. Additionally, wearing a well-fitted helmet is crucial to prevent potential concussions in the event of a hard fall.
